The Olive Press - Breaking News
Two Years Running Age Good Food Guide!
HOT OFF THE PRESS After two years since opening our cafe and gallery doors at Old Lorne Road Olives we are proud to announce our second nomination for the greatly esteemed Age Good Food Guide. This highly respected publication dishes up annual reviews from restaurants all around Victoria with personal visits from professional critics to validate all of their assessments. The review ad verbatum: "nearly two years young Old Lorne Road Olives is a casually sophisticated spot with an airy cafe, fantastic deck, panoramic views and happy service. It is part of a working olive grove- the house oil appears on a chef's platter with local eel, wagyu salami and oysters - and delivers produce-driven, unfussy, but assuredly prepared food and local wines. Perhaps try prosciutto wrapped grilled sardines or skewered veal kofta on cous cous and lemon tart for desert." This backs up our "cheap eats" listing and 2009 Good Food Guide nomination. Our focus is always on delivering a relaxing and satisfying dining experience so to have these aspirations confirmed by experts is affirmation of our philosophy and approach - great food, relaxing vibe and personalised service.
